About The Gentle Diary

Meet Rosie

Hi, I’m Rosie — the writer behind The Gentle Diary.

I created this space as a place to explore the emotions we often struggle to express: love, loss, hope, healing and everything in between.

Through poetry, I hope to create words that feel like a quiet companion — something to return to during the seasons of life that shape us.

A few things about me

Outside of writing, I’m usually found with a book in hand, a notebook nearby and far too many thoughts waiting to become poems.

I’ve always been drawn to the little moments that often go unnoticed — conversations that stay with us, memories we return to, a song that reminds us of a season of life, or a sentence that changes the way we see something.

I’m inspired by nature, storytelling and the beauty found in ordinary moments. I believe there is something powerful about putting words to the feelings we often keep hidden.

When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me reading, collecting ideas for future poems, exploring new places, or finding comfort in a cosy corner with a cup of tea.

How The Gentle Diary Began

The Gentle Diary began with a simple belief: that words can help us hold the things we don’t always know how to say.

Growing up, navigating the ups and downs of adolescence, anxiety, relationships, friendships, change and loss, I often found comfort in writing through the moments that felt difficult to understand.

Poetry became a way to process emotions, make sense of experiences and find meaning in the seasons of life that shape us.

What started as personal reflections and quiet words on a page slowly became The Gentle Diary — a space to share honest writing, create connection and remind others that they are not alone in what they feel.

Poetry for the connections, memories and moments that make life meaningful.

  • Loss

I hope The Gentle Diary reminds you that every chapter — even the unexpected ones — has a story worth telling.
